Council Decision - SHOW YOUR SUPPORT !
This coming Thursday, December 19th, the Los Altos Hills Town Council is required to take action on our open space initiative. Their basic choice is to either adopt it into law as is, drag their feet and cause the matter to go to a special election.We would really appreciate a strong showing of support. We are Item 8.3.2 (under Staff Reports) on the Council Agenda. The meeting begins at 6 PM at Town Hall.
League of Women Voters Endorsement:
The League of Women Voters of the Los Altos-Mountain View Area has passed a resolution "endorsing the Citizens Initiative of Los Altos Hills for the Protection of Open Space and Recreation Lands."Jane Turnbull, co-president of the local League, will present the resolution to the Los Altos Hills Council at its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday.
Fundraising Goal Accomplished:
Providing that some pledged donations from individuals are received and barring any unforseen expenses, we are delighted to be able to announce that we have raised the funds needed to pay our attorney's bill! Thank you all.We are grateful to a community that has responded so favorably and with such enthusiasm to our efforts to preserve our open space and public recreation lands. Resident Patty Ciesla sent us the following. She has expressed it so well, it bears repeating:
"I'm so pleased at how bright the future looks for our town's openspaces and trails. Please feel free to share the following with your supporters.
I think everyone who took the initiative to set up an ironing board, put a sign in their yard, carry a petition, speak at a meeting, write an email or make a phone call deserves a little pat on the back for being a true parti- cipant in our community. We are all truly fortunate to have neighbors like you!"
